Season Starter Kit
The first four weeks decide your entire season. Here's a plan for all of them.
Most coaches don't struggle in January. They struggle in the first month — no structure, no sequence, no way to know if the system is actually being installed correctly or just run randomly. Players learn habits in the pre-season. The wrong ones stick just as hard as the right ones.
The Season Starter Kit is the connective layer between your Zone Defense Playbook, your Motion Offense, and your 30 Practice Plans. It maps the entire season into three phases, gives you week-by-week installation sequences, and puts 8 printable templates in your binder so you're organized from Day 1 to the playoffs.
What's inside:
-
3-Phase Season Plan — Pre-Season (Weeks 1–4), In-Season (Weeks 5–16), and Peak Phase (Final 4 Weeks). Each phase has a different coaching priority: install fast, maintain consistently, simplify ruthlessly before the playoffs. The teams that struggle treat all three phases the same way.
-
4-Week Pre-Season Installation Sequence — Week 1: defensive foundation only. Week 2: motion offense introduction. Week 3: both systems against active opposition. Week 4: full scrimmage conditions with special situations. Daily minimums included for every week.
-
In-Season Practice Model — When practice time drops to 2–3 sessions per week, this model tells you exactly what to do with each one: 10-minute defensive review, 15-minute offensive focus, 15-minute competitive 5v5. No wasted minutes.
-
Peak Phase Protocol — A framework to identify your 3 weapons and eliminate what isn't working before the playoffs. If a rotation hasn't been executed correctly in three weeks, it won't be executed correctly in a playoff game. Cut it.
-
Roster Management Guide — How to position your weakest defender where the system protects them. How to run the motion offense for non-creators. How to manage playing time under pressure so no player is surprised in a big game.
-
Game Day Routine — Night before, pre warm-up, timeout structure, and post-game protocol. Including: one thing to tell your team after a loss, and why you give them 10 minutes of silence before you speak.
